Tom Lyons heads up Black Swan, a business turning around care homes across the UK, ensuring only the highest quality care is delivered.
Tom credits Black Swan’s success, in part, to a business model that focuses on the retention of its staff. “Keeping quality talent in the organisation means we can provide consistent, quality care to all the residents and their visiting families.” Tom says he’s motivated by “running care homes which give me the ability to positively affect vulnerable people’s lives.” The company has experienced impressive growth in recent years: between 2013 and 2016, its turnover grew by 64 per cent. In 2017 Black Swan purchased two new properties, taking the total care homes up to 17.
The company prides itself on reinvesting in existing homes and potential turnaround opportunities. He says his greatest achievement has been “helping the business grow rapidly whilst maintaining full compliance with regulators in what is a notoriously difficult sector.”
