CEO, UK Power Reserve
It’s an important year for Tim Emrich, CEO of UK Power Reserve and his team; 2017 has seen UK Power Reserve spearhead the national shift to a decentralised, ‘two-way’ power system.
The innovation sees low carbon energy sources complemented by reliable energy sources, such as batteries and small, local power stations. “Our model helps consumers harness the benefits of renewables, get involved in producing or managing their own power, whilst ensuring that low cost, flexible back-up power is available when the wind isn’t blowing or the sun isn’t shining,” explains Tim.
“I am motivated by the exciting transformations underway in the UK’s energy system,” he says. “I am immensely proud of the growth UKPR has achieved. Since being founded in 2010, the company has grown and developed a strong reputation for innovation and quality service.”
He is quick to credit the success to his team: “It would not have occurred without the talented workforce we have harnessed, to whom I’m hugely grateful. As a result of their drive we now have the largest independent distributed gas portfolio in UK and are one of the largest providers of battery storage in Europe.”
