General Manager, Gulfstream
Sat in the cockpit of aviation business Gulfstream is Steve Plumridge, who oversees the manufacture and maintenance of some of the world’s finest corporate jets.
Having joined in 2014, Steve became general manager in 2017. Working out of Gulfstream’s service centre in Luton, he leads the company’s efforts to be a fantastic place to work. Under his guidance, Gulfstream has committed itself to instilling self-belief and confidence in its people through employee self-development and engagement programmes. “My core focus is on creating an inclusive economy that creates a better and happier life for all citizens,” he explains.
Asked for the piece of advice he’d give his younger self he replies, “Trust your instincts and recognise that the accepted way of doing things is rarely the only way. Instead, consider all possibilities.”
Gulfstream has produced more than 2,800 aircraft for customers around the world since 1958 – and the business continues to soar; a new purpose-built factory due to open soon at TAG Farnborough Airport in Hampshire.
