Chief Commercial Officer, doopoll
“Organisations thrive when they understand what matters to the people they care about,” says doopoll chief commercial officer Steve Dimmick.
Doopoll’s software allows companies to create polls with easy-to-use interfaces, real-time results and customised branding options. In use by the likes of O2, Admiral and Legal & General, Steve still says the best decision he ever made was to scale back the company’s expansion, so it could better understand the needs of individual clients.
The service is available globally with English, French, Spanish and Welsh language options. “I grew up in 1980s south Wales with the Welsh language all but extinct. I want to keep the language alive and it gives me great pride to put a language, which many believe to be outdated, into a very modern application.”
Steve’s biggest motivation is always getting better: “I relish being in awkward and uncomfortable situations, I like being tested and challenged. I’m improving at failing and it’s important to accept when you do and build from it. That’s the mark of a truly successful business.”
He says his business eschews just using buzzwords and instead lives them through and through, “It’s easy to use buzzwords such as collaborative, progressive, positive, accountable, diverse. But anyone who can say their organisation engenders all of these traits will have impact.”
