Founder and Creative Director, 91 Ways to Build A Global City
Not-for-profit initiative 91 Ways to Build A Global City is out to prove there is more that unites us than divides.
Founded in 2015 by Kalpna Wolf, 91 Ways aim to build understanding between communities by holding food-themed events which allow people to share their stories, personal food journeys, recipes, and passions. A recent exciting event was entitled ‘Tales from Iran’.
The name of the project is a reference to Bristol’s 91 language communities. Kalpna says she wants to “build bridges, cross divides, and celebrate and empower all our citizens so that they can connect and contribute positively to the growth and future of our city.” 91 Ways has so far gathered more than 5,000 people and engaged thousands more through social media.
When asked what advice she would give to her younger self, Kalpna says: ‘‘Believe in yourself and you can achieve anything’.
