Managing Director, Bevan Healthcare CIC
Gina Rowlands is Managing Director of Bevan Healthcare CIC, an organisation that provides primary medical care to the homeless, asylum seekers and refugees, and others who struggle to engage with mainstream services. Their established healthcare model has been recognised as ‘gold standard’ care within inclusion health.
“We are a community interest company with a strong moral and ethical purpose,” Gina says. She is motivated in her work by the “lack of humanity shown to the most vulnerable in society in the face of austerity”. This has inspired the company motto: Health, Hope, Humanity.
Her commitment to the cause has brought considerable success: the net tangible assets of Bevan Healthcare have increased from £100k to £3 million in the past four years. The company has also developed a new Street Medicine Bus, where clients can talk with a doctor or nurse in confidence.
Gina’s advice is simple: to “never lose faith in humanity.”
