Chief Executive, The Girls’ Day School Trust
Cheryl Giovannoni’s passion for empowering girls to reach their potential drives her dedication to the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), a network of independent girls’ schools and non-fee paying academies, where girls are encouraged to learn without limits.
GDST is a not-for-profit organisation founded almost 150 years ago with the vision to shape girls’ education and help them fulfil their dreams, so that they go on to make the world a better place for us all. It is committed to its development of happy, confident and fulfilled pupils, rather than generating profits for shareholders – it invests more than £30 million in inspirational learning environments and facilities alone. Cheryl aims to expand the work GDST has been doing since 1873, reaching as many girls as possible in the UK and beyond, whilst deconstructing ingrained gender stereotypes and striving for gender equity within a generation.
In addition to her work as chief executive of GDST, Cheryl is a strong proponent of mentoring, and works with Women in Advertising and Communications London (WACL) to offer her expertise, wisdom and support to help nurture young talent.
