Partner, Trowers & Hamlins
Amardeep Gill confesses his commitment to the legal profession may be rivalled by his passion for improving public services. As a partner at international law firm Trowers & Hamlins, he is as comfortable driving the firm’s Birmingham office and leading on major projects for the public and private sector.
With a career spanning 15 years, Amardeep is a nationally recognised specialist in advising clients on commercial joint ventures, outsourcings, strategic partnerships and large scale public sector infrastructure and service contracts. In addition to his role as governor at Birmingham Metropolitan College, he is currently a board member of the Colmore Business District and a governor at an all-through school in Birmingham.
He has advised on complex large scale projects across a range of sectors including education, regeneration, outsourcing, leisure, aviation and housing. He is also actively involved in the Smart Cities agenda and assists clients on the impact of the devolution agreements currently being agreed.
Amardeep’s advice for his younger self is reassuringly simple: “The only thing you control in this life is yourself. Start and finish there and the rest will follow!”
